Concrete contractor work in Menifee, CA

H&H Menifee Concrete Works is a concrete contractor in Menifee, CA, and we handle 16 kinds of concrete work, from driveways and patios to footings, foundations and cutting. Your price mostly comes down to the size of the job, how much old concrete comes out, how much digging and base work the ground needs, and the finish, since stamped or decorative work takes more labor than a broom finish, the light swept texture that gives your feet some grip. The schedule turns on whether the job needs a permit and on curing, the days new concrete needs to harden before you use it. Your estimate shows the ground work, the concrete and the finish separately, so you can see what's included.

  • Concrete driveway building

We build new concrete driveways on a base we dig out and pack first, so the slab isn't sitting on loose dirt. It suits homeowners replacing an old driveway or adding parking.

  • Concrete patio construction

Want a backyard slab for a table and a grill? We pour patios that slope so water runs away from your house, finished in a broom, smooth or stamped texture.

  • Stamped concrete services

Stamped concrete is a regular pour pressed with patterned mats while it's still soft, then colored to look like stone, brick or tile. We do it for patios, walkways and driveway borders.

    Explore service
  • Concrete sidewalk building

We build concrete sidewalks and walkways from the driveway to the front door, along the side yard or out to the back gate, set on a packed base with joints cut to control cracking.

  • Garage floor concrete

Garage floor cracked, chipping or sitting uneven? We break out the old slab, rebuild the base and pour a new floor thick enough to carry your car, your workbench and whatever you store.

    Explore service
  • Decorative concrete

Decorative concrete means color, exposed stone, scored lines and other finishes that dress up a plain gray slab. It's for homeowners who want an entry, patio or walkway to match the house.

  • Concrete retaining walls

If part of your yard keeps washing down or you want flat ground on a slope, a concrete retaining wall holds the soil back. We set it on a footing sized for the height.

    Explore service
  • Concrete floor installation

We pour concrete floors for workshops, barns, storage buildings and room additions. Our crew trowels them flat and smooth so equipment, cabinets or a finished floor covering sits level.

  • Concrete pool decks

What makes a good pool deck? A surface with grip for wet feet and a slope that sends splash water away from the pool, and that's how we build them, plain or decorative.

    Explore service
  • Concrete steps construction

We form and pour concrete steps for front entries, back doors and patio drops, with even risers so each step feels the same underfoot, and steel bars inside to tie them together.

    Explore service
  • Slab foundation building

A slab foundation is the poured concrete a house, addition, garage or shed sits on. We build them on a compacted base with steel set in place before the pour, ready for framing.

    Explore service
  • Foundation installation

We install foundations for additions, garages, accessory buildings and larger structures, from digging the footings to setting the steel and pouring the walls or slab the building sits on.

    Explore service
  • Concrete parking lot building

Property owners call us for concrete parking lots and larger slabs that take daily car and truck traffic. We plan thickness, drainage and joints around the loads the lot will carry.

    Explore service
  • Concrete footings

Footings are the buried concrete pads or strips that spread a load into the ground. We dig and pour them for patio covers, block walls, decks, posts and additions.

  • Foundation raising

Floors sloping, doors sticking or a slab that's dropped at one corner? Foundation raising lifts the settled section back toward level, and we look at why it sank before we quote it.

  • Concrete cutting

Need a doorway, a trench for a pipe or a cracked section taken out? We saw-cut concrete with clean, straight edges so the rest of the slab stays intact and new work joins neatly.

Why our concrete work starts below the surface

Most of what makes a slab last is done before the concrete truck shows up. Here's how we handle that part, and how we keep you in the loop from the first visit on.

We put the money into the base

The subgrade is the dirt and gravel your slab sits on, and nobody sees it once the pour is done. That makes it the first thing cut when a budget gets tight, and it's a common reason slabs settle and crack. A base that's only raked level moves with the dirt under it, and the concrete moves right along with it.

So if something has to give, I'd rather you go with a plain broom finish on a base we dug out and packed than a fancy stamped surface on loose dirt. A sealer or stain can go on later, but the ground under a slab can't be fixed without tearing the slab out. I'll walk you through that trade-off when I come out.

  • The owner quotes your job

I'm the one who comes out, looks at your job and writes the estimate, and I run the work on site while our crew forms, pours and finishes. So the person you talk to on day one is the person who answers for the job at the end.

  • Estimates you can compare

Our estimates break the job into ground work, concrete and finish as separate parts. If another quote is one number for the whole job, you can line ours up next to it and ask whether the base work is even in there.

  • Drainage and joints planned first

Before we form anything, we check where water runs so the slab falls away from your house, not toward it. We also plan the control joints, the grooves that give concrete a place to crack in a straight line, and cut them on time.

  • Plain answers to hard questions

Ask as many questions as you like, including the ones a salesman might skip, like whether your new slab will crack. Concrete can crack, and I'd rather tell you why and how we plan for it before the job than explain it after. Call (951) 574-0417 and start with whatever's on your mind.

What happens after you call us about your concrete

Here's how a job goes with us, from your first call to the walk-through at the end. There are four steps, and you'll know what each one involves before we get to it.

  1. Call or send a note

Call (951) 574-0417 or send a note through our contact page and tell us a little about the job, whether it's a new driveway, a patio out back or a cracked slab that needs to come out. We get back to you within one business day to set up a time for me to come look.

  2. I measure and write it up

I come out, measure, look over the site and talk through what you want, including how you'll use the slab and where the water runs now. Then I write up a free estimate with no obligation that shows each part of the work, so you can read it over and decide on your own time.

  3. Permits, prep and the pour

Once you say yes, we check whether the city or the county covers your address, and when the job needs a permit we handle the application and set up the inspections, telling you before any work starts. Then our crew preps the ground, pours and finishes while I run the work on site.

  4. Walk the finished job

When the finishing is done, we walk the job with you so you can look it over and ask about anything you see. We'll also go over how long to stay off the new concrete while it cures, on foot first and then with your car.

Who we are and how this business got started

I'm the owner of H&H Menifee Concrete Works. Before this I ran a small landscaping business, and the concrete jobs were the ones I liked best, so I learned the trade working next to experienced finishers, got my own state license and started this business in 2017. We're based in Menifee, and most of our calls come from homeowners here and in the cities around it.

We're best known for driveways, patios and stamped work, and we also pour bigger slabs for property owners who need them. We're fully licensed and insured, with satisfaction guaranteed on every job. You can read more about how I got started and how we run a job on our about page.

Cities where we pour driveways, patios and slabs

H&H Menifee Concrete Works is based in Menifee, CA, and most of our work is here and in the cities around it. The 12 cities below each have their own page, including Murrieta and Temecula. They aren't the only places we work, so call (951) 574-0417 if yours isn't listed.

Questions about concrete estimates and the work in Menifee

These are the questions I hear most when I'm out measuring a driveway or patio. If yours isn't here, ask when I come out or give us a call.

What does a written concrete estimate include?

Ours lists the ground work, the concrete and the finish as separate parts, so you can see what each piece of the job covers. I write it after measuring and looking over the site, including where the water runs and how much old concrete has to come out. Ask about any line you don't follow.

How do I compare two concrete quotes for the same driveway in Menifee?

Line them up part by part, starting with the ground work, because a low number usually comes from skimping on the base you won't see once the slab is poured. Check whether each quote digs out and packs the base, plans for drainage and says where the control joints go. If a quote is one number for everything, ask the contractor to break it out.

How do I get my yard ready for a concrete pour?

Mostly by clearing the work area and keeping it clear until the new concrete has cured. That means moving cars, outdoor furniture and potted plants, and telling us about sprinkler lines, pets or a gate the truck needs to get through. We'll go over the rest when I come out.

What are the steps to pour a concrete driveway or patio?

We dig down to firm ground, pack a solid base, set the forms and rebar, pour, finish the surface, cut the control joints and let it cure. Rebar is the steel inside the slab that keeps cracks from spreading apart. We plan the pour around midday heat, because concrete that dries too fast can end up weak and dusty on top.

Do I need a permit for concrete work in Menifee?

It depends on the job, and inside city limits the City of Menifee's Building & Safety Division is the office that issues building permits. We sort out which office covers your address as part of the steps above. The city also limits construction within a quarter mile of an occupied home to Monday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., except national holidays, unless the city approves other times.

When does a concrete contractor need a California license?

Under the state licensing board's rules, a license applies when the project needs a building permit, uses any additional workers, or costs $1,000 or more in labor and materials combined. A larger job can't be split into smaller pieces under $1,000 to get around that. The city also requires every business working inside Menifee city limits to hold a city business license, good for one calendar year.
